Week 9
Week 9 already.

This week was one of the calm weeks before the storm of midterms and detachments hits in Week 11.

On Monday we had our accident investigation class where we learned how to take measurements at a accident scene and how to take pictures of accidents.  It is always nice to get out of the classroom and do some practical stuff that we will be doing once we are out of Depot.
The next day we had some really fun stuff in doing pull overs.  One of us was the cop and the rest were either the driver of the car being pulled over or ghosts who got to watch.  Some of the scenarios were pretty funny, there are some good actors in the troop.  "Ask him if he is packing heat!"  and other questions were asked making it hard to keep to keep a straight face while trying to do all the proper steps.
This week also got us started on boxing.  What a great way to let the stress of Depot out!  We just learned the basics this week such as the proper way to punch, we are not fighting each other very much yet but that heavy bag in the PDT gym sure got a beating.
On Thursday we had a nice and different day when we got to show Depot to a group of kids from a school in Moose Jaw.  This was a good time, the kids loved to see the horses that we have on base and had lots of questions about Depot and marching.  But I think the think that they really enjoyed was a chance to play around in a real police car.  They played with the lights and really liked the siren and yelling into the P.A system in the car.  I don't have any kids but for the guys in the troop that do it must of really reminded them of home.
We also had our 3 mile run this week which was run on a beautiful spring day.  I did it in 24:19 which isn't the best time but is an improvement from before I came to Depot.
And this weekend is a long weekend, a chance to get out of Regina for a couple of days.

Well gotta run, Week 9 is sneaking up on me.
