This week brought to an end Troop 35's participation in morning parades, YES!! We never have to get up at 5:20 in the morning and put on our high brown boots and parade around the drill hall again. I find that the hardest part of Depot, getting up that early day after day. I was a troop commander one last time on Thursday and it went off without a hitch.
We also had our practice detachments this week, getting us ready for the final detachments that are coming up next week. Next week is the final week of tests, the big three. Final detachments are first for me, I am a cop on Monday. Then it is final panels, for me this takes place on Tuesday. Then on Friday we take the final exam. So my next update will be very happy that I passed all three or very short saying that I have failed one of more of the final three. Hopefully it will be saying that everyone passed and that we are now cadetstables.
We qualified with the rifle this week and I am happy to say that everyone in Troop 35 passed. Most people did very well getting their crossed rifles, including me. No one managed to get the crowns, although a couple of people were only one shot off.
A short update this week, not much happening in the wake of next week. So look for an update next weekend to see how we all did.
