Week 19 cont...
Now to the business of my posting.  For about a week now everyone in the troop, including the instructors, have been giving me a hard time because the Manitoba posts were not in yet.  "Where are you going?"  Was a phrase that was asked to me about a million times.  So finally our instructor told us that the 'D' Division postings were in.  I had waited for so long that I wasn't even really excited to hear it.  He started out by saying "It is not one of the posting that you asked for.  It is a bit further north than you wanted. You are going to The Pas."

He was right in saying that it was more north than I wanted, but I am not disappointed with the posting.  It is a nicely sized community with a nice detachment of 30 members.  Plus it is only about an hour and a half from where my parents live so that is good.  It is a five year limited duration posting which means I will be there for five years then I am gone.  I also think it is considered an isolated post so there could be some extra cash in for me...hopefully.  I was just glad to get my posting finally, now I can start getting ready to get out of Depot and start being a cop.

Here is a link to the RCMP page about the detachment.

So now I know where I am going and the end is close, we only have about 13 work days before we have our final exam, scary.  This week will bring us only two days of class and then it is practice detachments to get us ready for final detachments which are the next week.  Busy times are ahead, lets go!!!
