This the End!!! The end of the application waiting game has arrived!!!

Bear with me, this will be a long post, a lot has happened.

I got a call from recruiting this week from Willy (the Cpl in charge of recruiting) asking me if I wanted to head to depot March 16th!!!  I of course said yes yes yes.  He said that the only thing that could keep me out would be if I did not pass the PARE that was scheduled for Saturday.

Ok, flashback time.......Earlier this week I went to the doctor to get my medical clearance to re-run the PARE.  When the doctor finally got around to doing my checks he noted that my blood pressure was high.  So he made me wait around for half an hour taking about 6 different readings.  This no doubt made me nervous so my blood pressure reading was a little high.  The doctor put on my sheet that I had 'possible white coat transient hypertension'.
I did not need this, I did not need to have this on my sheet.  So the whole week leading up to the PARE I was nervous, the reason being is that they take your blood pressure when you run the PARE and if you are over a set limit,  you can not run until it is at an acceptable level.  I thought that I would be in this category for sure now. ....end flashback time.

So, when the big day came to do my PARE, I was nervous.  I tried to think of nice calming pictures in my head to hopefully bring down the pressure.  My technique must of been effective because when I got my blood pressure measured I was within the acceptable limits, which was a HUGE relief.  Then I ran the PARE and did a pretty good job, my time was around 3:40.  I say "around" because by the end of it I was so exhausted that I couldn't quite take in all that he said to me.  But that was good enough time for me, I needed 4:45 to pass and my last time was 3:53.  I was looking for some people that I could recognize from my previous PARE run and I saw a couple.  One guy there got his date as well, he starts on March 23rd.

On a disappointing note, I was supposed to go on a ride along with the Lumsden RCMP last night but when I got to the detachment, no one was there.  I went to the gas station to fill up my car and someone said there was a snowmobile accident and someone had been seriously hurt.  So I assume that's where everyone was and that incident took priority over my ride along.

Now there are no more steps, no more waiting for phone calls, the end has come. The reality of the situation is setting in.  I have a lot of stuff to do, quit my job, move out of my apartment, get my finances in order.

The light that was so far down the end of the tunnel is close now, so close I can feel it's warmth, and OH does it feel good!!!
