Paul's Page
The picture to the left was taken about three miles south of the Golden Gate, just prior to our first entrance thereof. This picture was one of the last ever taken by that camera. The wind was 30-35 and the seas were enormous. Getting safely in the gate that day was quite a relief. We had about 6 inches of water above the floorboards, a broken diesel tank, and enough fuel in the tubes to run the motor for a couple minutes. We were happy to make the St Francis guest dock.

Robin - is a 1928 Q class sloop. She is 52' long,  9' 6" wide. She is double planked, carvel, with mahogany over oak. The frames are oak, and deck is teak. The mast and boom are spruce.  She was designed by Frank Paine in 1927, and built by Fred Lawley, in Neponset Mass.
She lived in Marblehead from 1928 until sometime in perhaps the late 40s. She moved to Lake Michigan, and was moored in Milwaukee. In 1975 - she was moved to Chicago, via Neshkoro and Sheboygan Wisconsin. She stayed there until 1999 - when she was moved out to Moss Landing Ca. She now sails alternately on the Monterey and San Francisco Bays.
