Puff is a two year old bearded dragon in the black and white pictures. We got her when she was just six weeks old and four inches long. Her favorite thing to do is to look at you while she's perched on her drift wood log. Now that she's matured, she's fairly placid unless there is some live food around. Then she really moves out. She eats a mixture of dog food and carrots just like my turtles.
Bearded dragons are very social. She always looks at you when you go into the pets' room. She doesn't really like to be held, so we just take her out once in a while. She really likes sunning on a window ledge.
Bearded dragons live about four years and are native to Australia. She's over nine years old now. Our family had one when we lived there. Puff was born and raised in the United States just like her parents. In fact it's against the law to export bearded dragons from Australia.
Puff passed away on 02/28/06. She was 11 years old and hadn't been feeling well for several months. She was the pet I've been with for the longest period of time. I'll bury her in the backyard and mark her grave with the drift wood log she used to sun on.
