What was offensive?: Your underlying attitude seems synical towards those very things you needed in order to deal with your disorder. Do you have bipolar disorder?: Yes Do you have family with bipolar disorder?: Yes What do you think is missing?: You don't say anything about what helped you or what level of recovery that you achieved. | Comments: Because every body is different, individuals react differently to the same medications. The doctors then have to manipulate the dosages and/or combinations of meds inorder to find what works; that takes time and minitoring. The most important ingrediant i the process comes from the individuals themselves. A treatmentment plan cannot achieve any kind of reasonable success without the full cooperation and commitment of the individual needing treatment. It has been because of the efforts of my doctors, with y coopertaion, and the support of family and friends that I have been able to atain a useful productive lifestyle; which includes having a home, children, and a career. I was 24 when diagnosed as manic depressive and will soon be turning 49. Because I cho e to wrestle with my deamons rather than cave into the, I have with help, overcame what would have denied me any simblence to a normal life and been free of episodes for 16. Someone once said; "That which does not kill me, makes me stronger" I know from m wn experience that it is true. If you know your mind and you know your body, you will know your way. |
