On October 4th, Paul took a trip to Wrigley
Field for his first live baseball game in over a year.
Paul's friend Kevin Cloherty did all the planning and got the
tickets, so a BIG thank you to Kevin!
It was a overcast day and the Cubs were
facing the Cincinnati Reds in a game that was meaningless as far
as the standings go. The game was actually called after 7
innings when it started pouring, but not before the Cubs jumped
out to a 2-0 lead, which ended up being the final score.

Paul and Kevin pose with Sammy Sosa -- yes,
that tiny white blur between Paul's and Kevin's shoulders really
is Sammy Sosa (click the picture to see a larger version).

Paul with his brother David (that's
me).

David, Paul, and Kevin. This picture was
taken by Paul's daytime nurse, Mike who came along with us.
In fact, it was Mike who drove the van -- next time we'll be sure
to get a photo of him too!

"Hey, this is cool!" Those were
Paul's words when he stood upright for the first time in 15
months.
Supported by a "human brace"
formed by his Mom, Dad, nurse Yolanda, therapist Sue, and sisters
Nancy and Laura, Paul stood upright for several seconds.

While standing, Paul waves to the camera and his
dog Mokey.

 |
Smiles all around as Paul is safely back in his
wheelchair and Dad's dog Jack comes to congratulate Paul.
