2003 Pictures
This is the way the garden looked in June of 2003.  We've added a branch line where the farm used to be to add more interest.  Before, the trains just went around the garden, now they go through it.  We've also added a few more structures from Aristo-Craft such as their smaller passenger station and the switch tower.  I've also experimented with pruning the miniature trees to resemble their 1:1 prototypes.  I think it's worked well.
F3 passes Abbey Brook freight yard
Pennsy F3 arrives at Abbey Brook Station
A GI waits patiently for the next train to his destination.  Station is from Aristocraft
Pennsy F3 approaches Abbey Brook yard.  The train will soon pass over our new brook bridge.  In the background you can see the new Quadrilateral bridge.  Both structures are from Bridge-Masters.  Highly recommended.
Evening descends on Finleyville Station as passengers wait for the last train home.
Compare this view of the Finleyville yard with the same scene on my 2002 page.  Big difference.  All buildings and figures are from Aristocraft.  I love their water tower..
Aristocraft barn
This farm vignette turned out really well.  The boxwood is coming along nicely.  In the background I've aded quite a few rocks for stepping stones.  The need for these became evident after a few sizeable gatherings of children to see the fish.
Aristocraft barn.  I am not very happy with the new roofing they use.  It's foam covered with contact paper and is not holding up as well as the other structures from that company.  The Irish moss should make a nice meadow when it fills in.  That's chocolate mint behind the barn and a sleeping cow in the foreground.  You can see the new bridge in the background.
