Salvation is the answer to the age old question that men and women have been asking: "What shall I do to be saved?". Our human condition groans and begs for our return to a proper relationship with God, as all mankind has been separated from God and full of sin since the time when Adam and Eve fell (sinned) in the Garden of Eden. God provided a way for us to be reconciled back to Him through the death, burial, and resurrection of his precious Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sins through His precious shed blood on the cross at Calvary. Hallelujah!
All we must do is accept (believe on) Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, and repent (turn away) from our sins (Acts 16:31-33). It is important to pray, read the Holy Bible (God's Word), and meditate on and acknowledge Him in all that we do. We also read that people in the Bible got baptized IN JESUS NAME (Acts 2:38) as an outward expression of their "new birth" (being "saved" or "born again") in obedience and dedication to God after they received Salvation, the free gift of God that comes from God by grace. The new believer must also receive the Holy Spirit at Baptism by the laying on of hands unless he or she received it at the moment of accepting Jesus.
It is important for a Christian (believer in Christ) to confess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior before men. You should also find a good Bible believing church (i.e., where Biblical truths are taught from God's way and not distorted with man made doctrine,) and start attending regularly, as well as regularly reading the Bible so that you can grow in your love for God and knowledge of His ways. After you have received the free gift of Salvation which results in the forgiveness of all your sins, be warned that the Devil (Satan) will come and try to persuade you to stop reading your Bible, stop going to Church, stop seeking after the things of God, and encourage you to fall back into sin.
Stand firm with the Word of God (Holy Bible) and seek God's answers to any struggles you are going through. Prayer (you talking to God) and reading your Bible (God talking to you through His Word) are vital to help you grow as a Christian. As you meditate and study the Bible, you will be transformed and renewed both physically and spiritually. The Bible has great power in it, and God wants you to learn and apply scripture, to help you live better each day and have a closer walk with Him.
I am sure you have lots of questions, so I encourage you pray and ask Jesus to help lead you in the direction that you should go. Also ask Him to send people and events into your life to direct and encourage you. It is a daily walk to be a Christian, and I pray that you ask Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior and believe on Him, that he died (was crucified), was buried, and was resurrected, and that Jesus' precious blood was shed for the remission (forgiveness) of your sins.
To receive the free gift of Salvation, I suggest you pray a prayer like the one below. Please be sincere when praying this, as God loves you and wants to free you from the penalty of sin and death. By the way, if a person chooses not to accept the free gift of Salvation, they will receive eternal life in Hell (eternal separation from God) as the penalty for their sins. Thanks be to God and His Son, Jesus Christ, through whom we may receive the free gift of Salvation! Please pray the below prayer with all sincerity:
"Lord Jesus, please come into my life. I accept you as my Lord and Savior. I reject sin, and repent of all my sins. Lord Jesus, I thank you that today is the day of my Salvation and You have now forgiven me from the penalty of all my sins. Help me, Lord, to walk in Your ways from this day forward. Let me not stray, Lord, but send people into my life to help teach and encourage me in Your ways. I believe that you died, were buried, and were resurrected and now sit at the right hand of the Father, making intercession on my behalf. Jesus, thank you for being my Lord and Savior, and for forgiving me of all my sins. In Jesus Christ's Holy Name I pray and ask this. Amen."
If you have prayed the above prayer, please tell others that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Also, please E-mail us at the address below so that we can rejoice with you in your "new birth". If you are in the Hillsborough, NC area please consider visiting us at Life in Jesus Apostolic Christian Ministries. Otherwise, please call the pastor of your church. If you don't have a church, pray and call a church that preaches Jesus Only and Jesus Name Baptism. Tell the pastor or whoever answers the phone that you have just accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and wanted to share this "good news" with them. Ask them to rejoice with you and pray with you. Below is the prayer that I offer up to God on your behalf, please read it and may you be encouraged by it:
"Father God, I come before you in Jesus precious name, and pray for the person who is reading this who just accepted your free gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ. I thank you, Lord Jesus, that they have asked you to forgive them of all their sins and have received You as their Lord and Savior. I pray that you would guide, guard, and govern them. Please protect them for all attacks of the enemy, and let them not stray from the straight and narrow path that you desire them to walk in. Send people and events into their life to encourage them and to help them better follow You. Let them never forget this special day or turn their back on You, Lord Jesus. God bless this person in all that they say, think, and do. Let their life being a living testimony to You. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen."
