Paul Griffiths:
I have known Paul in the
capacity as his Line Manager, for the last two and a half years at the above
Project. He has worked for us in many roles and with many
responsibilities these have included:
- One to one sessions with our service users all of whom have alcohol
misuse problems. This included providing individual support plans regular
reviews and risk assessments.
- Facilitated groups on a daily basis, these included: focus groups,
house management groups, a course in anger management, anxiety management,
activity groups where residents have been away doing outward bound and activity
camping trips.
- Paul has been involved in constructing client profiles and case
studies. He has also conducted assessments for potential residents, visited
prisons and courts to assess clients and provided reports for court when
required.
- Part of Paul’s role included developing Stonham Housing’s
Policies and Procedures e.g. risk assessments, drug policies, resident
participation etc. Paul has the ability to translate National Standards into
effective working practice.
Through Paul’s NVQ Assessor training and Stonham
Housing Associations new Care Practice Manual he is familiar with evidence
based work and has the knowledge to implement this in various settings.
- Involved in the training and induction of new staff, especially on
the group work skills and regarding policies and procedures.
- Paul has contributed to Government Strategies in the alcohol misuse
field and has lobbied M.P.’s at the House of Commons on behalf of Alcohol
Concern's report 'Britain’s Ruin'.
In all his work, I have found Paul to be very thorough
and dedicated, he has been supportive to his colleagues and willing to impart
his knowledge to others to better their skills.
Paul has been an asset to the 195 Project and we wish
him well for the future.
