My Trek With Paulie

Raincoat Surprise -- Paulie's Special Snowmen

Wishes do come true! On our last outing, I wished I had a raincoat. . . Paulie made me not only a raincoat but also a hat and galoshes too! Here I am on her front door, raring to go outside. Let it rain!

Since I wanted to go out in the rain with my new outfit, Paulie took me to the U Haul place to buy boxes for her move at the end of March. We rode the bus there and walked home with the boxes on her rolling cart. On the way back, she let me splash in this puddle in my new galoshes -- the grass is quite tall -- probably because there is never a chance to mow it with all the rain we have had since I arrived. It would be a good place to hide the Easter Eggs next month!

"Paulie, see that BIG puddle. . .can I splash in it? Can I? Can I?"

Well, Paulie says she did not get any SNOW THIS WINTER in Vancouver -- it all stayed in the mountains . . .sooooooooooooo I got to meet her little snowmen (as she promised when I arrived) that she had been keeping in her freezer from LAST winter.

The little boy snowman has a blue neckscarf and a "carrot" nose. Paulie made it during her first snowfall on January 21st LAST winter.

On the last snowfall of the winter -- LAST YEAR --on March 17th, she made the little girl. The snow was melting fast and she hurriedly found some buttons to use for all the facial features. She put the green polka dot scarf on it because it was St. Patrick's Day.

She also had three snowballs from the three snowfalls in between that year. They look pretty icy after being in the freezer for a over 365 days! I think they are kinda cute and just my size!

I am happy that she shared them with me. Later after I went to bed, she put them all on her drainboard and in the morning there was just a small puddle left.

Because Paulie is moving, she could not take them with her but she has some good memories of making them and her final ones of sharing them with me, her little friend from California.

One more photo with this little guy and the snowballs. . .
