This little website will tell you all about my adventures when I went to visit Paulie in Vancouver, Washington. It is in southwestern WA, just north of and across the Columbia River from Portland, Oregon. It is a big town but not a big city. It has two school districts with about 40 elementary schools in each and of course, there are middle schools, high schools and colleges too! You can locate Vancouver on a map between two freeways -- the I-5 on the west and the I-205 on the east. Many people confuse her town with Vancouver in British Columbia in Canada. Welcome to my tour with Paulie!

After I arrived in Paulie's mailbox on February 18th, she took me to her apartment to warm up as it had been cold in the mailbox from all the rain they have been getting. Since this was my first day here and it was still rainy, we did not get to do any touring around Vancouver right away but she wanted to take a photo of me arriving at her apartment so here I am on her front door! Paulie says scotch tape comes in handy when "going places." {grin} I will remind her to take some when we go on our travels.

Paulie REALLY LIKES SNOW so she collects snowmen. (She says that Vancouver has not had even one snow flake so far this winter) Having to stay indoors because of the rain, she introduced me to some of her snowmen. They are quite a bunch -- bunch of snowballs, that is! These are only a part of her collection. I think I like them too! She told me if it doesn't snow while I am here she will introduce me to her two little snowmen she keeps in the freezer in zip lock bags from last winter! I hope she will introduce them anyway but hope it snows for Paulie too.

With it raining for several days we mostly stayed home and I hung around Paulie's computer watching her work on her websites and write to Daniel, (the boy in California) who sent me to Vancouver to learn about her area with Paulie. Paulie is a teacher but she moved recently and doesn't have a teaching position this year so I get to spend lots of time with her. She likes working on her computer. She says that one day we will do a lot of "touring" in Vancouver. I can hardly wait!

Paulie's friend,Janice, took us for a ride into Oregon on a very windy day. We went past the Willamette Falls so we had to stop for some pictures. That is Mt. Hood, covered in snow, in the background. Janice didn't want to be in the photo but she is holding me so Paulie could take my picture and I would not get blown away, down the hill and into the river. (She is taking good care of me.) You can see the Willamette Falls better in the next photo.

This is a zoomed in view of the Willamette Falls -- isn't it beautiful? Next in line after snow, Paulie loves water, especially the ocean but since she is two hours from the Pacific Ocean, she is content to enjoy the Columbia River nearby and especially likes trips to see other bodies of water in nearby communities. You can also see Mt. Hood in the top background of this photo. I sure am glad Paulie has such a nice friend to take us to see these places in Oregon.
