QuikWar #1: Battle for the Grail

So I finally gave it a try. This battle was based on the QuikWars rules of BrikWars. It was a closer contest than I thought it would be. The set up was on a card table (picture). The Black Falcons defended the grail, housed in the Kings castle set with 12 soldiers, including 1 hero. (Stupendous moves were not used, but double attacks were) The threatening army was the United Front, a compilation of Crusaders, Guardsmen etc. 19 soldiers including a hero. (2nd picture)

The United Front (UF) moved first and moved to seige the right side of the castle with their seige tower and ladder moving only 5 inches per turn. They immediately killed a lower level archer, which was a surprise (all 5 archers defended with 3 die due to armor). His bow was critical in the later stages as it was picked up and used to reach the tall tower archers.

Black Falcons were very effective, in their second turn they lowered the drawbridge, unleashing 3 horsemen and archers. However they were stunned when the 3 horsemen attacked a foot soldier and lost (due to me not using enough die, oops). This led to 2 of the horsemen being slaughtered the next turn, but the BF hero still had his day. With a lot of luck the BF hero with another chap who hopped on a horse and backup from the 3 archers above, proceeded to dismember a lot of UF soldiers, including the UF hero.

By this time the seige tower reached the castle and the foot soldiers attacked. BF hero made a break back into the castle for support of his troops only to be cut down from behind by the remaining single UF horseman and archer in the front battlefield.

From there is was a matter of time before the UF soldiers overtook the castle, making use of the BF weapon stash to attack the archers in the tower.
