Most sequels are not very good, but this one is! This time, the story is set in Rancho Cucamonga, an affluent suburb of Los Angeles. Craig Jones's (Ice Cube) Uncle Elroy won the lottery a few years ago, which his father resents. Craig is sent to live with him to escape Debo, who escaped from prison, and South Central Los Angeles.
The story is pretty complex and with its good cast and script proves to be very funny. "Next Friday" is not too long and not too short; it's just right for a comedy. Parents would probably want to be a little careful about letting young children see this. But kids 15 and older should be fine.
Rated R for language, violence, drug use, and sexual innuendo and situations. 93 minutes.
