"What Lies Beneath" is truly one of the best movies to come out this summer. Featuring an awesome cast in Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer, the movie also delivers with an outstanding story. Directed by Robert Zemekis, the movie is set in Vermont. Ford and Pfeiffer have just sent their daughter away to college when Pfeiffer begins to see strange sights at the house next door. Soon, she starts to hear creepy sounds, followed by doors closing and pictures falling in her own house. The ghost of a late young college student is haunting the house. I can't reveal any more of the story, but let me tell you it is very good.

Ford delivers with one of his best performances in years. That goes for Pfeiffer too. Robert Zemekis has always been one of the greatest directors in Hollywood since his 1985 movie "Back to the Future." This is a great horror movie that does rely on blood and gore to scare the audience. Instead, it goes back to the methods used by Alfred Hitchcock - people randomly appearing around the corner, strange sounds, etc. - to scare people. This is a great movie and I encourage you to go see it.

Rated R for language, violence, and innuendo. 129 minutes.
