It seems that 5 files were missing off our final pack of NBA 2K1. How they got lost is still a mystery to us, but we'd have to guess that the Great Windows Operating System and superior FAT32 filesystem is to blame for it. When dealing with 2,000+ files stuff like this does happen. The result for the enduser was being unable to play as the Charlotte Hornets team. Once these files are placed on the disc, you can play as the Hornets. Follow these detailed fix instructions to fixup your copy: 1. Download CDIRIP (http://cdirip.freeyellow.com). 2. Run cdirip.exe /iso /full e-nba2k1.cdi in DOS Prompt on a DiscJuggler image of the game, where e-nba2k1.cdi is the image name. 3. Make a directory on your hard disk (X:), X:NBA2K1. 4. Take the 1st Session ISO image that CDIRIP generated and open it in any program that can extract data files from an ISO. Extract all of the data to X:NBA2K1. Alternately you can copy all of the files from a burned NBA2K1 CD-ROM to your hard disk for this step. 5. UnZIP the files that are contained in this ZIP. They are: - PLAYS020.PBA - PLAYER002A.IFF - BACK025.IFF - ARENA502.IFF - 748UNIFA.VCT 6. - Place PLAYS020.PBA into the X:NBA2K1PLAYS directory. - Place PLAYER002A.IFF into the X:NBA2K1DATA directory. - Place BACK025.IFF into the X:NBA2K1DATA directory. - Place ARENA502.IFF into the X:NBA2K1INGAME directory. - Place 748UNIFA.VCT into the X:NBA2K1PLAYERHISTORICAL directory. 7. Find yourself MKISOFS.EXE from the self-boot kit, or obtain it from a friend if you have one. And Put It In Your X: drive 8. Run: mkisofs -C 0,0 -l -V NBA2K1_ECHELON -o session1.iso NBA2K1 in DOS Prompt Note: NBA2K1 at the end of this command line is your directory with all data files, so you should probably run this command from the root of your X: drive. 9. Goto CDRWIN Tools -> Record ISO9660 Image. Pick X:session1.iso for your ISO image. Click the option Open New Session, and make sure Finalize/Close Session and Write Postgap are also checked. Open the dropdown menus and choose CDROM-XA and MODE2. Now, burn this image at your desired speed. Side Note: If you have problems with self-boot games and want to use a CD Loader, then simply leave Open New Session unchecked and do not follow any other instructions given in this fix tutorial. 10. Goto CDRWIN Tools -> Record ISO9660 Image. Find the 2nd Session .ISO file that you generated from CDIRIP at the beginning of this tutorial. Use this as your ISO file. Goto the dropdown menus and select CDROM-XA and MODE2. Also make sure the Finalize/Close Session and Write Postgap options are checked. And finally, make sure that the Open New Session option is NOT checked, and burn this off at your desired speed. 11. You now have a 100% working NBA2K1. Our apologies for the mistake
