The following are pictures from Canada Day in the Nation's Capital. It was quite the party. Take a look at some of the pictures from the day's events below.
This is the group in the
morning.
Shannon Hunt is missing
from the group photo, he was a little tired from the festivities the night
before, hahaha.

Our morning started at about 11am with a steak and eggs breakfast, accompanied with some beers and coolers of course. We enjoyed the morning sun in the backyard during breakfast.

We headed downtown at about 12:30pm, and arrived at the National War Memorial around 1pm. We decided to drink some more beer at this venue, to our dismay, we were only there 5 minutes before the following visitors arrived and we had to unload all of our beers. They were very good about it, the police had as much fun catching us as we did emptying out the remaining 9 beers we had.

From there we headed to the Market to spend an afternoon outside on a restaurant deck drinking beers and eating nachos, taking in all the sites and sounds of Canada Day in the Byward Market, downtown Ottawa. Picture below is of Trevor and I taking it easy, catching some rays.

After some time, we all decided it was best to go back home for a quick bar-b-q before returning downtown for the evening's celebrations and fireworks. We just happened to escape a thunder storm, we were at the Walkley Transitway when the rain hit. It only lasted about 15 minutes though, and then everything cleared off for the evening, we even got to see a couple of rainbows, see below.

After the bar-b-q we headed back down to the Hill. There were about 85,000 people on the Hill for the evening show which featured Newfoundlander Cathy Jones as the MC.

And the evening concluded around 10:30 p.m. with some spectacular fireworks above Peace Tower.
