Who am I?

My name is Paul Jenkins. I was born on 21st January 1971. It was a cold morning and the sun was not yet out when I came into this world. It was a Thursday and outside the hospital, old people cried as they tried to come to terms with this terrible new decimal money. I know all this because I was there.

I always wanted to write but like most people I ended up failing at a wide variety of schools, colleges and jobs instead.

Luckily, just after my 35th birthday I lost my job due to a misunderstanding between my boss and myself. I threatened to kill him and as a result, found myself unemployed and broke and wondering how it was that I could be halfway through my allotted three score and ten with absolutely no idea what I was going to do with the second half.

I enrolled at a local college with an eye to maybe training as a teacher or something. The lecturer thought I showed some promise as a writer. I'd never tried to write before, not properly. Anyway I ended up here in the University of Glamorgan studying Creative and Professional Writing. I like it here, everyone seems very nice and I dont feel the need to threaten anyone with death.

In my spare time, which is about 17 minutes a month, I spend quality time with my wife and children. I'm obsessed with music and I listen to anything from Willie Nelson to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I support Aston Villa football club. By which I mean I might go to a game every couple of years. Most of my friends think I have a very strange sense of humour. I hope that comes across in the stuff I write.

This is my first and last attempt at building a website. It's not brilliant, if I ever need one again, I'll get a pro in.
