****NEW RP5 TE AS OF 11/8/01****
RP5savetroops.zip
****Mission description:
Two allied batallions are trapped.
To their east is a lake, to their south is a large mountain with tanks near its summit,
to their north is a tank batallion, and to their west is yet another tank batallion.
The allied troops are winning in a heated battle with the enemy troops to the west, but without support they will surely be destroyed by the other enemy tanks.
A-10's are scrambled to help destroy as many tanks as possible.
F-16's must quickly clear the area of air defenses prior to the A-10's arrival.
F-16 flights: Two 4-ships will clear the area of SAM's sites prior to the A-10 attack.
A-10 flights: Four 4-ships of A-10's are scrambled to destroy 2 tank battalions. Great for those who love the warthog!
F-16 (4-ship) and F-15 (4-ship) provide sweep coverage of the area.
There are just a few clouds in this TE - mostly clear skies.
Note: press "alt-r" to remove the score box once both tank battalions are destroyed.
Rating 4.25 out of 5

RP5osamabinladen.zip
Private: Sir! We found him!
Commander: Excuse me?
Private: Sir, we have located Osama Bin Laden, Sir. He appears to be training terrorists in North Korea.
- the face recognition software on the satellite imaging has positively identified him to be in North Korea as we speak.
I can see him right now shooting at an unarmed target in the mountains.
Cloud cover is starting to move in on his location.
Commander: Get the President on the horn, and launch an attack using F-16's and F-18's immediately! There is no time to program a cruise missile attack.
****Mission description:
Fly NOE to avoid being detected by radar and enemy aircraft, so as to not give Bin Laden any warning of the attack.
Once within striking distance, use a pop-up attack to destroy Osama Bin Laden and his terrorist followers.
Be wary of possible U.S. Stinger heat seaking missiles being used by Bin Laden's men.
Be aware that SA-2's, infantry, and SA-5's are in the area, so keep as low as possible. Use the mountains to shield you from being detected by radar.
Flight 1: 4-ship F-18's take lead. They will use napalm and CBU's to destory the terrorists. Provide air defense where needed.
Flight 2: 4-ship F-16's use CBU's to destroy the terrorists. Provide air defense where needed.
Flight 3: 4-ship F-16's flying and alternate route, will also attack the terrorists and provide air cover.
Flight 4: 4-ship F-18's flying the alternate route and performing the same mission.
There are clouds in this TE.
Note: press "alt-r" to remove the score box once you have destroyed Bin Laden's battallion. Date 10/14/01
****LET FREEDOM RING!!!!****

RP5carpetbomb.zip
****Mission description:
The elite North Korean tank batallions have retreated to the northern mountains to regroup for a new offensive against the south.
Carpet bombing raids by B-52's are ordered to drive the tanks from their strong-hold and thwart any planned offensive by the tanks.
3 simultaneous attacks will take place against 3 tank batallions (all 3 packages have similar flight plans and objectives).
Flight 1: 4-ship F-16's on SEAD-strike to take out SA-5 sites to clear the way for the heavy bombers. Primary objectives are the SA-5 radars, and the secondary objectives are radar installations at the B-52 target site.
Flight 2: 4-ship F-16's on Sweep to clear the sky of enemy fighters so that the SEAD-strike and heavy bombers can reach their targets.
Flight 3: 4-ship B-52 heavy bombers on mission to carpet bomb the tank batallions and destroy as many tanks as possible.
24 F-16's in total and 12 B-52 bombers in total!!
Note: with 2 different ground targets as objectives, this is a long TE (approximately 150 miles to cover - the first target is about 75 miles from your home base, and the second target is approximately another 75 miles from there).
Wonderful cloud formations in this TE were added by using F4Weather (I highly recommend this excellent tool which makes adding clouds as simple and as quick as can be:
Link to F4weather)
This TE works great with 1.08i2/RP5 - has yet to be tested on eTeam's 1.10.
This TE would never work with RP4, but with the intense improvements made to the AI air to ground assaults, this TE works better in RP5 than I had ever expected.
Hats off to the RPG (and others) for their excellent work!
I rate this mission 3.75 out of 5. Date 8/19/01
