Somerset House

Somerset House is one of the more successful Millenium projects. Sandwiched between the Strand / Fleet Street and the Embankment, it has an interior courtyard reminicent of Parisien Palaces. In the photo below, the main building houses the Courtald Galleries with their impressive displays of French Impressionism.

The Courtyard's main feature are a square of fountains, normally all pushing water up to the same height.

Somerset House as seen from Waterloo Bridge. It faces the National Theatre.
