Doomdarks Revenge

Doomdarks Revenge was the game I most thoroughly understood. I ended up writing a landscape editor for it in the summer of 87. My original pokes for this game were published in Derek Brewster's column in Crash issue 45 (Oct 87). These involved circumventing the protection system, and hence had a good 50 lines of basic and machine code in it. It was only after the original pokes were published that I found that you could simply break out of the game by pressing break during the save / load if it was the first thing you did. This routine was published in Crash issue 93 and is listed below. To restart the game, enter RAND USER 23440

No Mist POKE 28262,24: POKE 25525,0

The original pokes for Lords of Midnight are:
POKE 64867,0: POKE 64868,0: POKE 24724,0:
POKE 24725,0: POKE 25283,24: POKE 25284,62
They let you access everyone straight away and to never be killed by Dragons etc.

The entire Lords of Midnight / Doomdarks Revenge world is still alive and well, best represented by Chris Wild's excellent web site Icemark.
