Paris

Came back to Paris, at the start of April 2003, during a sunny break. First time I'd been back since 1997 when I'd spent 6 weeks working here by the Trocadero putting in Gloss for Merrill Lynch. This photo shows the Eiffel Tower as it was back then, showing a countdown to the year 2000.

Facing the Eiffel Tower is the Trocadero, a formal set of buildings with fountains, surrounded by parks and skateboarders.

We had 3 days in Paris, and mostly saw Museums; the Musee d'Orsay - for its Impressionist paintings; the Lourve for Mona Lisa, Napoleon's Apartments, Eyptian exhibits and sculptures; Musee de Cluny for the Lady and the Unicorn, and the Picasso Museum.

The last day, headed to Sacre Coeur, a lovely breath of fresh air, from the closed metropolitain areas of Montmartre.

A close up of the wonderful domes of Sacre Coeur, visible all over Paris. We climbed up to the arches just below the dome, which give a great view of north Paris.

Our last visit was down to the Left Bank, wondering around, seeing St Sulpice, a lovely old church, just by the Jardins de Luxembourg
