Rome The Pantheon, the best preserved building of ancient Rome.The original temple was built by Marcus Agrippa, son in law to Augustus, in 27 BC and dedicated to the planetary gods. Although the temple was rebuilt in 120AD, Agrippa's name remains inscribed over the entrance.
