La Cinque Terre La Cinque Terre - 5 old fishing villages just west of La Spezia, connected by a hillside path, Monterosso, Vernazza (pictured below), Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore (closest to La Spezia). I spent a day walking between them, starting at Riomaggiore, in late February 1999.
Spring had already begin in these warm climates in late February...

Some of the dramatic hillside views. Very similar to the Big Sur in California, except of course here you are walking through the lovely countryside, instead of speeding through Big Sur in your car.
