Yosemite - Tuolumne Meadows

Outside of Yosemite Valley, Tuolumne Meadows is a sub-alpine meadow at 8500 ft, on the Tioga Road. It's wide open fields and clear blue skies are a dazzling contrast to Yosemite's densely forested valley

This is the first view you get as you drve east along Tioga Road, the trees part and the meadow is in front.

The Tuolumne River passes through, well fed with the melting snows.

Heading away from the meadows on the Pacific Crest trail...

One of the best hikes in the area is to the top of Lembert Dome, 9450 ft. The 360' view at the top is amazing, with a birds eye view of tuolumne meadows, below.
