WILD-EYED WOMAN

I see her on the corner
a wild-eyed woman
standing.... watching...
watching the streets

Why, how is she here
a figment... a dream...
a nightmare

Leads me the rest of the way--
struggling-- I don't want to go

Why
what fears
does she hold
this wild-eyed woman
who stands on the corner
waiting, waiting, forever waiting
for me to come

What keys does she hold
what secrets of the soul
hides in her mind

Help me I'm fallen
and can't get up of her eyes
wild eyes shining

Shining in the night
but only her eyes
are drawing me
across the way

I don't want to go. But slowly--
against my will-- I am...
drawn

Help me I'm lost
to the
wild-eyed woman

Trapped...
in my desires
lit...
by this woman,
and her eyes

her wild, wild eyes.......
