hearts_afireHEARTS AFIRE

Fall morning sunrise
as the wonderer wakes in me
begging to hit the road again
to some once known destiny

Somewhere in a dim memory
of a girl I used to know
calling me for a visit
after all these forgotten years

Hearts afire in the daylight
come leading my foot steps
questions answered in my sight
as I turn either left or right

A wrong turn leads my path
as blind faith sees again
a house at the side of the road
where lives wait to see
if it's the one I seek

Hearts afire to soothe the day
hearts afire to guide my way
hearts afire towards a golden pathway

Come guide me I only pray
guide this wonderer home
hearts afire in a golden sunrise
'tis the start of a new day
