Dr. Paul Chao is an energetic management practitioner who has had over 30 years corporate executive, sales/marketing, global operations, supply chain management, technology transfer, production and quality management, and industrial engineering experiences in the U.S. Paul is a firm believer that learning and sharing knowledge is a life-long endeavor. Paul enjoyed sharing his hands-on management experiences with engineers and graduate industrial engineering students of National Space Program Office/National Tsing Hwa University, Hsinchu, Taiwan and UCSC-Extension, Cupertino, California.
Paul is presently a Professor of Technology Management at Feng Chia University, Taichung, Taiwan, after serving for six years as the President and CEO of Optical Microwave Networks, Inc. -- an ISO 9001 certified wireless communications company in Silicon Valley (San Jose, California). Paul held several key management and engineering positions at National Space Program Office (ROCSAT1), Hsinchu, Taiwan (Product Assurance Manager), Hughes Electronics (Senior Project Manager and Manufacturing Engineering Manager), Southern California Edison, (Supervising Industrial Engineer), and Teledyne (Industrial Engineer).
Dr. Chao has consulted for Stratex Networks, San Jose, California, in the capacity of Senior Consultant, Global Operations where he advised in the technology transfer of advanced wireless communications products (microwave radios) from San Jose to Hsinchu, Taiwan and Beijing, China.
Paul is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of California who earned a Doctor of Business Administration from Argosy University, Orange, California where he completed a dissertation on "The Cross Cultural Impact on Managing U.S. to China Technology Transfer." He also earned a BS in Industrial Management, MS in Industrial Engineering, and another MS in Information Systems.
