Progress Report:

1/11/00: Well, I started this page, as anyone could guess, because I got a Mustang. The information about it is below. The sale of this car may well have been the best deal in a long time. I bought the car off a little old lady for the small amount of $100. The reason that this deal is so good is that the engine runs good above idle (I think the ICM has taken a dirt nap) and the body is virtually perfect. No body rust, no bubbled up paint, nothing. And all with only 62,000 and some odd miles on the ticker. It does have some things that need attention, it needs a new pass. side front fender, and 2 new doors, but a trip to a junkyard will fix those problems. Other than the car is in very good condition. I guess why she took only $100 is because she though the engine was messed up, and she just plain wanted it out of her driveway. So my friend and I loaded it up with just the 2 of us, (almost getting a hernia from pushing the thing on the trailer) and then he almost ran it off the front end of the trailer because the brake pedal was all slippery. But things turned out just fine. I'll really try to update this page more often that I did my Cougar page, and I should have more free time to do so since I am in College now. Stay tuned.......

1/19/00: I realized looking at the page after I made it last week that I totally forgot to mention what I am planning to do to this little 4 banger Mustang: total driveline "modification". What's modification mean? How about a 351W/C4 combo? The car is currently carburated, and that will make installing a carburated 351W that much easier. Right now two things are happening; I am looking for install kits for putting 351W's into fox body Mustangs, and waiting to get enough money scrounged up to buy a suitable engine. I poured most of my money into my Cougar, so know I'm screwed for the time being, cash-wise anyway. If you know of a place that sells install kits, or you have done a swap like this yourself, PLEASE send me some info. I can use all the advice I can get. Either sign my guestbook and leave the info there, or e-mail me with the info. To e-mail me you can click the drop down menu at the top of the page, the guestbook is at the bottom.

1/25/00: Pulled the engine and trans. this weekend. I sold the engine to a kid I know for $200, he's going to put it in his Ranger. I still have the tranny sitting around, it needs to get sold also. I have no use for it now. I found out while we were taking the engine out that about 5 vacuum lines that went somewhere around the passenger's side of the car were totally melted off, and weren't even hooked up to the vacuum tree. No wonder it idled so bad. Oh well. Not my problem anymore. I'm looking for a 351W in good condition to put in the car, prefferably running, and carb'd.

4/5/00: Haven't updated the page in a while. Unfortunately, due to a lack of cash, little has happened with the car. It is at home in my shed now, and I found a 351W out of a truck for $100, which I bought. I also bought an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake(#7181) and Performer RPM camshaft(#7182) for the 351W. I need to hit the junkyards and find a C4 transmission and a 9 inch rear-end for the car also. I tore the 351W apart to see if I could just drop it in and run it "as-is", but when I pulled the heads there was more cylinder wear than I was hoping to find, so I'm going to rebuild the engine. The guy I bought the engine from also has some ported heads for the 351W that he never used, so I might pick those up off of him. I am at the point now that I have more things to do than I have money, so progress is slow. I'll keep updating, and hopefully get the engine removal pics loaded here.

4/28/00: Finally getting around to work on this again. Got some pics loaded, almost got the account deleted, not much goin on... Ha ha. My dad just got a digital camera, so I'll have some good pics up here pretty soon. I'll put up what I have for now.
