Although the engine is very nippy (0-60 in about 9.6 seconds when thrashed - which it gets - regularly!) I feel it could do to be a little faster, but insurance in England is not cheap, so engine mods have to wait until you're in your fifties.
Brakes and Suspension
Standard from disks & pads. Standard rear drums.
Lowered 45mm all round. Stiffened suspension.
Standard 14" Alloy Wheels (For now of course!!)
(Car handles very well but can struggle to slow down at high speeds)
Body
Standard body shell, except subtle boot spoiler (none of this pointless rally shit!), and removal of door locks (locks are welded over, filled and repainted, making the car look as if it had no locks to start with. Vehicle is opened by remote central locking. All round electric windows.
Interior
Standard Ford Escort Cabriolet interior, retrimmed in leather. Middle rear seat (which in my opinion was useless) removed along with middle seat belt and middle seat belt clip. (Door cards and trims yet to be improved - car still has tacky velour cloth, which, incidentally is not in the best condition!)
ICE (In-Car Entertainment)
Kenwood KRC-478R head unit. 6 disc multichanger (Mounted extremely securely in lockable glovebox). Kenwood 6.5 inch front door components mounted in 5 inch holes using adaptor brackets. Kenwood 6 inch rear panel components mounted in air-sealed hubs.
I am happy with the ice for now, but I plan to fit a couple of 12 inch subwoofers in the boot to give those low notes a bit more oomph!
Security
2 alarm systems, one controlling central locking, one controlling dual microwave / tilt / shock / glass sensors, with pager (range up to 1 mile)
