| Location | The railroad is located in Huntington, Long Island, New York, U.S.A. |
| Size | DT&H Railroad layout is presently 14' x 16' |
| Age | The railroad was initially built in May, 1998. Each year additions have been made in scenery and track. Ballast and settling of the raised land area have been the biggest problem. |

| Scale | G Scale - LGB - 1/22 of the real size - that's about twice the size of Lionel |
| Power | D.C. Direct power to track - System is powered by Bridgewerks Power Packs and Aristocraft Train Master remote control units directly to the track. There is no DCC system presently on the layout. |
| Themes | Creating a master system with individual areas or themes as modules. There is a main terminal theme, a junction theme, a mountain theme to name a few. In this case the whole is the sum of its parts and as the various photos illustrate, individual views or themes are created and developed to give many different viewing angles of the layout. |
| Buildings | All buildings are made from plastic models by Piko or Pola. I usually build my structures in the winter or early spring when I am planning and designing. |
| Engines | The D.T.&H. RR has many engines. No more than 3 engines can run on the railroad at one time but follow this hyperlink to a list of our current LGB engines. |
| Figures | There are over 100 miniature figures in the stations and around the layout. All figures are from LGB or Preiser. Even our passenger cars are loaded with passengers. |
