October brings some of the finest weather conditions to operating the Denver, Huntington and Tiggertown Railroad.   However, since the railroad is located on Long Island, one must always be prepared for the possibility of severe weather arising.  Hurricanes have been known to hit this area though thankfully infrequently.

It's always fun to put our small D&RGW switcher online pulling a small train of freight cars.  Running smaller trains just makes it easier to remove them in case of a rapid change in weather.
