Detroit Destroyers
Coach: Joe Frees

Seasons in League: 2001-Present
Career Records: 15-10-1, (0-1 in Playoffs)

Summary:

An expansion team for 2001, was the surprise story of the regular season, winning an outright division title in his inaugural season and earning a first round bye.

Year-by-Year

2001:
The newcomers started off on fire, going 6-1 to begin the season, losing only the Grand Rapids. Joe ran neck and neck with Nick for the regular season title all year long, falling short by a half game. His 10-3 record, was good enough, however for a divison title, and a first round playoff bye. The season came to an end, however with a 92-73 loss to Alaska in the Divisional Finals.

2002:
Despite a very explosive team led by Rich Gannon, a disastrous mid-season slump was Joe's demise in 2002. A close loss to Grand Rapids and a tie to a bad San Francisco team led to a 0-5-1 streak which took a 3-2 playoff contender to a 3-7-1 team on the outside looking in. He recovered to beat Wisconsin and upset Grand Rapids in the final week to snatch away the King of the Mountain Trophy.
