While the Black Beauty was the most prominent of the Green Hornet's weapons, he had many other weapons to help him in his fight against crime. One of these weapons was the Hornet gas gun. The gas gun was one of the weapons carried over from the original Green Hornet radio series. The gas gun emitted a sleeping gas that disabled opponents for several hours. In the Green Hornet TV series use of the gas gun was problematic at times because it involved passing a tube from the prop gun through the top coat's sleeve and into a spray bottle in which was a light powder which simulated a gas.
Introduced in the TV series was a new weapon, the Hornet Sting. A fearsome weapon, it could blast open doors or destroy walls through the use of supersonic (or hypersonic?) waves. Again, as a prop, the device could cause some problems. It was supposed to open dramatically at the touch of a switch. However sometimes the small gas charge that was supposed to make it open was too powerful and the front part of the sting would fly out across the set, hopefully impaling a wall instead of some innocent bystander. That idea was dropped and the Green Hornet had to be satisfied with merely pulling the Sting to its full length. Bruce Lee as Kato developed a nice technique of flicking the Sting open in one episode where Kato had to use the Sting to free the Hornet.

Kato's weapons of choice was a throwing dart as illustrated above and nunchuks. The nunchuks were only seen in Hunter and the Hunted and a borrowed pair in Preying Mantis. It would be interesting to note if this was the first appearance nunchuks on American television. Surely this was one of the first appearances of a martial artist of Bruce Lee's caliber if nothing else.
Although not quite weapons the Green Hornet had other gadgets including a nifty pocket watch that through the pressing of a button could extend an antenna, enabling him to signal the DA Frank Scanon. The pocket watch could also be used as a radio to talk with Kato in the Black Beauty. In Britt's office at the Daily Sentinel was a desk that would make any modern executive green with envy. It had a special swing out drawer that contained a secure (scrambled) phone for secret communications with the DA. Another phone gadget Britt had was one that could disguise his voice to the no one could recognize it, including his ace reporter, Mike Axford.
