Kestral and Others
Bebop is an American Kestral.  Kestrals are also called killyhawks or sparrow hawks.
They are the smallest falcon.  He came to us weak from  metabolic bone disease.
Someone had tried to raise him feeding him only dry cat food.  As kestrals need to gain most of the calcium and minerals they require  in the first 6 weeks of life, his bones were very weak.
He was given extra calcium and now can stand well and fly, but cannot be released
because if he dove in the course of hunting and hit something, his bones would shatter
He is a program bird and goes to shows and schools to help educate others.
This barred owl came for some time in one of our larger mews for flight practice before release.  Notice how he hangs from the top of the mew.....
Sable is a Fox Squirrel.  She and her sister Foxy were rescued from an attic fire.  She was unable to be released and lived with us till she died of old age.  She was a joy!
Sweetpea is a Spotted Skunk.  She came to us as a baby with head trauma.  She tended to have seizures from time to time.  We had her about a year before the seizures took her.
This is a Grey Fox that came to us as a baby.  We raised him with the
intention to release when he was old enough. therefore he was given
minimal contact with people. He was released to live free.
