Relinquishing a child to adoption is often one of the most traumatic events of a womans life. Social workers will tell a birthmother that she should go on with her life, and try to forget what happened. The reality is that most birthmothers dont forget! They continue to carry the pain and the emotional scars of losing their child. . Far too many birthmothers deny the pain of separation from their children, and never discuss that loss with another person. Why deal with that pain alone? H.E.A.R.T.S. is a safe haven, where you can talk about your thoughts and feelings, and find the support, understanding and healing that we all need. Maybe youve always felt that you didnt have a right to search for your child. Thats not true. You have a right to find out if your child is healthy and happy. You have a right to share with them their medical |
history, and their ancestry. You have a right to make yourself available to them, should they decide that they want a relationship. If your desire is to search for your son or daughter, we will give you all the help and support that we can, and will share with you what we have learned about adoption search. Whether you are: A birthmom who just wants to meet other birthmoms A birthmom that really needs someone to talk to A birthmom who needs help and support in searching A birthmom who needs help and support in reunion A rejected birthmom.
