The Guru

OK. I lied. This is my first Photoshop/Corel Draw attempt.
In High School, I used to hate History and Politics classes. Until I got into Herr Pommer's class.
This man is a passionate teacher who turned the dry collection of dates and events that history was to me into a fascinating story. His classes were full of enthusiasm and wisdom, without ever lacking fun - hardly have I laughed so hard.
I owe a lot to this man, as he was the one who initially pushed my mind out of my arse and made me question everything, and taught us to never lose perspective. He is one of the people who triggered my fascination for philosophy and politics, which is now dominating a big part of my life.
He earned this nickname (which was usually accompanied by rudimentary-but-symbolic bowing) because he truly is a picture book teacher - a guru.
I created this picture for our high school year book and got him a framed print, which, as he told me, now hangs in his office.
