The Gingerbread Man
2007 Internet Project
Our class will spend two weeks reading different versions of the Gingerbread Man/Boy story and doing related activities. We will read two traditional versions, The Gingerbread Baby by Jan Brett, The Cajun Gingerbread Boy, and TheGingerbread Boy set in New York. We will make a story element chart comparing characters, settings, why the Gingerbread Man ran away, and the ending of  each story.

We will make story necklaces showing the beginning, middle, and end of the traditional story.

Each child will write their own story about what they would do if their Gingerbread Man ran away.

We will decorate gingerbread boys and girls to use as tree ornaments.

We will graph which part of a gingerbread man cookie is eaten first.

We have made construction paper gingerbread men and will mail them to other classes the week of Dec. 5-9.
