Talking Cookies
Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter                                                    1 18 oz. (6 cups) quick oats (works better than
old fashioned oats but they are also OK)
1+1/4 cup sugar
                                                                        2 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1+1/4 cup brown sugar
                                                                        1 package (12 -14 oz) M&Ms
4 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

1 18 oz jar (2 cups) chunkey peanut butter
Directions:

1. Beat together butter and sugars.

2. Blend in eggs and vanilla (easiest if you add the eggs one at a time).

3. Add peanut butter and mix well.

4. Stir in oats, M&Ms and baking soda and mix well.

5. Drop by rounded tablespoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet, 2" appart.

6. Bake for 10 - 12 minutes in a preheated 350 degree oven.

7. Cool 1 minute on the cookie sheet and then move to a wire cooling rack.

Makes approximately 5 dozen cookies.

Variation:

For big cookies: Drop by 1/4 cup measure onto cookie sheet, 4" appart and flatten slightly with a fork.

The dough can be mixed and dropped on a cookie sheet and frozen. When ready to bake, let dough come to room temperature, about 30 minutes and then bake as directed.

The cookies can also be frozen after baking.
