Rum Balls

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups crushed chocolate cookie wafers (use
   oreo brand cookie crumbs, available where
   graham cracker crumbs are sold.

1/2 cup powder sugar

1/2 cup finely chopped nuts

1/4 cup corn syrup

3 tablespoons rum

1/2 teaspoon finely shredded orange peel
Directions:

1. Combine dry ingredients.

2. Stir in remaining ingredients.

3. Let mellow overnight at least and can be held in the
    refrigerator for several days.

4. Roll by 1/2 teaspoonful in powder sugar.

Makes approximately 2 - 2 1/2 dozen
Variations:

I've used Bailey's, Chambord or Frangelica instead of rum.

You can also roll the balls in cocoa powder, sprinkles or colored sugars.
