Kapusta (Polish Sweet & Sour Cabbage)
Ingredients:

2 cans (14 oz each) sauerkraut

8 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced

approximately 3 strips bacon, sliced into
   small pieces

4 - 6 tablesoons brown sugar

Directions:

1. Drain the sauerkrat well

2. One of the easiest ways to slice the bacon is to slice the end
    of a pound of frozen bacon (the pre-sliced kind) off in half
    inch increments,. Use two or three of these slices. Separate
    the pieces.

3. Combine all ingredients and bake in a covered casserole dish
    at 300 degrees for 1 hour. Do not microwave to cook - the
    sauerkrat needs the time and low heat to soften and for the
    flavors to blend. Stir occasionally.

Serves 6.

Can be kept in the refrigerator and reheated.

Microves well to reheat.
