| Trip 2002 |
| In May, 2002 we drove along the eastern shore of Lake Ontario, stopping at several New York State campgrounds. We spent the first night at Sackets Harbor and had dinner at the Sackets Harbor Brewing Company. In the morning, we visited the Sackets Harbor battleground, which was just down the block from our hotel. We drove further north and stopped in Clayton. We toured the Antique Boat Musem and had dinner at the Thousand Island Inn. The Inn was the originator of Thousand Island salad dressing. We ended this leg of the trip in Alexandria Bay where we spend three nights overlooking the St. Lawrence Seaway at Captain Thopson's. We toured Boldt Castle and tooked a chartered fishing cruise. The following week we camped at Cranberry Lake. The fish were biting but so were the black flies. I do not recommend anyone go camping in black fly season! |
