These arrangements started out when I was a student at the University of South Carolina at Aiken.  Under the guidance of Dr. Richard Maltz, I arranged selections from the Musical, West Side Story for an honors project in my music theory class.  After arranging the pieces into a medley, the Aiken Brass (quintet) performed it for our class. 

About 10 years later, I expanded on the section of America within the arrangement and expanded it into a full length version of the song, which was performed by the Edgewood Chamber Orchestra.
