As a Field Assistant with the University of Wisconsin Marching Band, I was happy to help out in anyway that I could.  Sometimes that allowed me to copy/transcribe Mike Leckrone’s ("chicken-scratch") handwritten arrangements into Finale program format for the UW Marching Band. Above are "before and after" examples of this task.  (Usually we were given no more than 4-5 days notice to produce Mike’s arrangements!)

Special considerations had to be made to ensure that the parts were legible, well-marked, and easily readable for the (marching) performers, that page breaks lined up (taking into account flipping the music folder outside of any difficult fingerings/passages for the performer), and that the parts were, above all, correct!
