MACADAMIA CHEER BALLS 2 Packets of Butter Nut Cookies 200 grms per 1 Tin of Sweetened Condensed Milk 2 Tablespoons Golden Syrup 2 Tablespoons Cocoa 1 Packet Dessicated Coconut 250gms 3 Heaped tablespoons butter (not margerine) 2 Packets of crushed Macadamia Nuts 1/4 lb total (other mixed crushed nuts can be substituted) Half cup of O.P. (overproof) Rum Method. Crush cookies, mix all dry ingredients well together Melt butter, mix with golden syrup & condensed milk, heat gently, till all blends well, do not make mixture too hot, or allow to boil.Add the heated mixture to the dry ingredients and blend thoroughly. Add rum last of all, while mixture is still warm. If the mix is too moist, add more coconut until stiff enough to be worked by hand. Makes approx 3 to 4 dozen.Measure a small rounded teaspoon out, drop into coconutand coat well, place on a tray, continue to do this until all the mixture is used. Place tray into refrigerator for 2 hours until balls are firm. Store in bottles, keep bottles in refrigerator until used. Makes excellent gifts for Christmas. |
