1. Records of Confederate Hospitals, Madison, GA. During the Civil War's horrible battles in East Tennessee and North Georgia in late 1863 and throughout 1864, the sick and wounded were sent to dozens of Confederate hospitals in Georgia. Four were located in Madison. This book is a verbatim compilation of hundreds of original official hospital records I have found in Texas, Georgia, Ohio, Virginia, and Washington DC. It includes thousands of names of Confederate soldiers who were patients in Madison, letters and orders between officers, and the history of each hospital as derived from the official records. Addenda will include a listing of soldiers by state, regiment and company; soldiers by state/city; and a list of diseases mentioned and their definitions. Also, indexes will include personal name  and subject/place.
Completion date: 2007

2.
The Campbell Hotel Register 1859-1862.  This hotel was the center of activity in Madison, Georgia just before and during the War of Northern Aggression.  Visitors and soldiers  from all over the country stayed here as they traded or stopped over-night on the Georgia Railroad. Most of the signatures, though, are folks from the nearby area, enjoying lunch, dinner or tea at the hotel. In this publication the hotel register is transcribed day by day, signature by signature, followed by an alphabeti-cal personal name index.
One copy is available for research in the Morgan County GA Archives.
