| The Pat Skinner Band played in the Kitchener-Waterloo area between 1997 and 2004. Pat Skinner and Jeff Grischow (guitar and harmony vocals) have gone on to teaching careers at Renison College and Wilfred Laurier University, respectively. Arun Pal (keyboards, drums and percussion, harmony vocals, and orchestral arrangements) runs a music studio, fronts his own band, and is the drummer in Snack! Mark Spielmacher (guitar, bass, and harmony vocals) plays bass in Hamilton's Shaky Leg and teaches at the University of Waterloo. Pat Skinner's music incorporates the interplay of different acoustic chord voicings and vocal harmonies. Together with lyrics that are rich, sensual, and evocative, the songs on the band's two CDs convey a sense of memory and nostalgia. Reviewers had positive things to say about the music: read about it here. |
