| # | Team | My Picks: |
My Reasons: |
Top Needs |
| 33. | Cardinals | *Igor Olshansky NT/DT Oregon |
Key UFA: Yeah Right!
|
Earlier Picks: Larry Fitzgerald WR Pittsbergh Key F.A. Signings: QB Shaun King Key F.A. Loses: |
|
Cards need a Corner and a D-Tackle. Olshansky has amazing strength. He also has been playing football for a shorter time then most of the other prospects. He is not just a run-stuffer. He shows some slipperiness in pass situations. But minimally he'll be a moose in the middle. |
||||
| 34. | Chargers | Nat Dorsey OLT Georgia Tech |
DT, WR, OL, OT, QB, DE, WR, TE, OL, LB, DL
*please note- Key UFA: Page T,
McIntosh T, Garmon G, Wilson S, Christie K
|
Earlier Picks: Phillip Rivers QB North Carolina State Key F.A. Signings: Steve Foley LB OG Mike Goff LB Steve Foley Key F.A. Loses: |
|
Dropped some because of commitment concerns and weight. But he has terrific feet and knows how to pass block. He has ability to be Left Tackle early in his career, if he's completely committed to football. Chargers must draft Dorsey, Jacobs, or Starks, is they want their rookie QB to survive.
| 35. | Chargers | Terry Johnson DT Washington |
DT, WR, OL, OT, QB, DE, WR, TE, OL, LB, DL
*please note- Key UFA: Page T,
McIntosh T, Garmon G, Wilson S, Christie K
|
Earlier Picks: Phillip Rivers QB North Carolina State Nat Dorsey OLT Georgia Tech Key F.A. Signings: Steve Foley LB OG Mike Goff LB Steve Foley Key F.A. Loses: |
|
Tank is the fast riser in the draft this final week. At 6-2 300 pound ran a 4.7 forty. As a Senior he had career highs in Tackles 35, TFL 18.5, and sacks 10. Also did 31 reps in bench press. Charger need someone to hold up the middle.
| 36. | Lions | Chris Perry RB Michigan |
*Key UFA: Bryson RB, Jett P, Beverly G, Hall DE, Walker S . |
Earlier Picks: Kellen Winslow TE Miami Key F.A. Signings: S Brock Marion OG Damien Woody WR Tai Streets Key F.A. Loses: LB Barrett Green |
|
Lions go with top runner on the board. Perry has everything you want in a RB, except blazing speed. But he has enough speed to be effective, and is proficient in all aspects of the running back position. |
||||
| 37. | Browns | Taylor Jacobs OLT USC |
OL, Ol, DL, TE, WR, Ol, RB, DB,
Key UFA:
Northcutt WR, Stokes T, O'Hara G, Boyer LB, Sanders CB, Gardocki P |
Earlier Picks: Roy Williams WR Texas Key F.A. Signings: QB Jeff Garcia Key F.A. Loses: OC Shaun O'Hara OL Barry Stokes |
|
If Browns don't trade up for Gallery, they will have to take a Left Tackle prospect. This pick will probably belong to the Raiders, who will take JP Losman, if he is still available.
| 38. | Falcons |
Lee Evans WR Wisconsin |
*Key
UFA: Bolden CB |
Earlier Picks: DeAngelo Hall CB Virginia Tech Key F.A. Signings: OC Todd McClure DT Rod Coleman OL Eric Beverly Key F.A. Loses: |
|
Super fast and super productive, But and it's a big but, Knee concerns and a Pot Arrest will drag him down into the second round. Where if he can stay health and drug-free, he will be a steal.
| 39. | Jaguars | Michael Jenkins WR Ohio State |
Key UFA: Clark LB, Bryant CB, Darius S, Hanson P
|
Earlier Picks: Will Smith DE Ohio State Key F.A. Signings: OG Mike Compton Key F.A. Loses: CB Jason Craft (5th) |
|
Jags take chance in first round, by taking a D-End in first, and it pays off big. Jenkins has the size, speed, and hands to be a number one receiver in the NFL. has not put it all together yet, but that may be because of Ohio State's QB situation and running offense.
| 40. | Texans | Sean Jones S Georgia |
Key UFA: Mack RB, Washington G, Randall T |
Earlier Picks: Vince Wilfork DT Miami Key F.A. Signings: Todd Wade OT Gary Walker DT (ret) Key F.A. Loses: |
|
Terrific prospect at safety who could have been a first rounder in next years draft. Safety is a huge need for Texans. Jones should step into starting lineup and stay their for a long time.
| 41. | Broncos From Washington |
Daryl Smith LB Georgia Tech |
Key UFA:
Brockermeyer T, Gold LB, Ferguson S |
Earlier Picks: Steven Jackson RB Oregon State Key F.A. Signings: CB Champ Bailey TE Jed Weaver Key F.A. Loses: RB Clinton Portis |
|
Broncos really need a LB, DL, and WR. With two number ones they can address two of those three needs. Smith is a little undersized, but has terrific speed, quickness, and anticipation. He is a football player, and play any LB position.
| 42. | Titans
from Jets |
Jason Babin DE/OLB Western Michigan |
DL, WR, DL, OL, TE, LB, CB, DL Key UFA: Volek QB, Kinney TE, McGarrahan S
|
Earlier Picks: Darnell Dockett DT Key F.A. Signings: TE Frank Wycheck (ret) Key F.A. Loses: DE Jevon Kearse
|
|
Similar player to Vrabel, but is no freak. I think he is overrated and certainly not a first round pick. But he has a chance to be a decent pas-rusher in the NFL. Might not have the height to be a DE.
| 43. | Bills | Devery Henderson WR LSU |
Key UFA: Winfield CB, Sidney CB |
Earlier Picks: Kenechi Udeze DE/DT USC Key F.A. Signings: Chris Villarial OG CB Troy Vincent Key F.A. Loses: |
|
Speed, speed, speed, Similar to Bethel Johnson, only a little shorter. Was a running back early in career and is still developing.
| 44. | Steelers |
Shawntae Spencer CB Pittsburg
|
Key UFA: Clancy DT, Logan S
|
Earlier Picks: Ben Roethlisberger QB Key F.A. Signings: LB Clark Haggans (ret) RB Duce Staley Key F.A. Loses: TE Mark Bruener |
|
Spencer is the fastest riser in the draft. Spencer has it all speed, size, cover skills, and he was a four year starter at Pittsburg. He is a four year starter who spent the past two season working again Fitzgerald in practice. He has quickness, size, experience and had an amazing personal work out. Some had him running as fast as a 4.3 flat. He could end up being the steal of the draft. He flashed onto the scene as a Freshman. He slumped a little as a Sophomore, but terrific football the past two seasons. He has excellent coverage ability, and breaks aggressively on the ball. He is a fiery competitor who has what it takes to be a good NFL corner. Dungy may have to reach for a bid DT to clog up the middle. Washington is physical specimen who should start to rise as we get closer to the draft. He still has some learning to do, but if he puts it all together he could be something special.
| 45. | Raiders From Bucc's |
J.P. Losman QB Tulane |
QB, RB, OLT, WR, YOUTH, WR, LB
* Key UFA: Stubblefield DT, Bromell DE, Woodson CB, Mirer QB, Badger G, Dorsett S, Shaw CB |
Earlier Picks: Robert Gallery OT Iowa Key F.A. Signings: CB/S Ray Buchanan Ted Washington DT (OUCH!) DT Warren Sapp OG Ron Stone DL Ike Charlton LB Dwayne Rudd Key F.A. Loses: DT Rod Coleman LB Eric Barton |
|
Raider's take a chance in first round and in this scenario they succeed. Losman's stock uis rising again, and he probably will not get out of the first round. He has all the physical skills you look for in a QB, except height (6-2). he has a cannon of an arm, and just as volatile a personality.
| 46 | 49ers | Isaac Sopoaga DT/NT Hawaii
|
WR, QB, WR, OL, CB, RB, WR, TE, DL, OL, DE
|
Earlier Picks: Reggie Williams WR Washington Key F.A. Signings: RB Kevan Barlow (ret) CB Plummer (ret) Key F.A. Loses: DE Sean Moran OG Ron Stone QB Jeff Garcia WR Tai Streets |
|
Could take another WR or a QB here, Matt Schaub has been rising. But DT is such a desperate need for 49ers. This team really needs to trade down here and in the first round to acquire picks. San Diego and 49ers have the most holes in their rosters, and they look like the two worst teams coming into next season.
| 47. | Bears | Ricardo Colclough CB Tusculum | DT, CB, LB, WR, DE |
Earlier Picks: Tommy Harris DT Oklahoma Key F.A. Signings: OG Ruben Brown RB Thomas Jones OT John Tait Key F.A. Loses:
|
|
Small college wunderkind has the size speed and cover skills to be a good one. But he was not changed in college, and will have to step it up a notch or ten at the next level.
| 48. | Saints |
Keith Smith CB McNeese State |
Key UFA:
Fontenot C, Thomas CB, McAfee ST |
Earlier Picks: D.J Williams OLB Miami Key F.A. Signings: DT Brian Young CB Jason Craft (5th) Key F.A. Loses:
|
|
Smith is one of those players, who the more you look at him the more you like him. The Saints have known for weeks Hall and Robinson will not fall to them in the first round. So they have been studying the second round corners for a while, and Smith has a way of growing on you.
| 49. | Bengals | Antwan Odom DE Alabama |
Key
UFA: Bennett RB, O'Dwyer G, Beckett S, Roman S |
Earlier Picks: Vernon Carey OG/OT Miami Key F.A. Signings: LB Nate Webster FS Kim Herring OC Rich Braham (Ret) Key F.A. Loses: DT Oliver Gibson OG Matt O'Dwyer OG Mike Goff CB Jeff Burris |
|
Both Bengal's and Viking's considered Odom in the first round, and will be fight each other to trade up for him if he falls into second round. Odom is a pure pass rushing DE who has trouble standing up against the run, but a LOT of people like him.
| 50. | Vikings | Marquise Hill DE/DT LSU |
Key UFA:
Kleinsasser TE, Lindsay OL, Robbins DT
|
Earlier Picks: Michael Clayton WR LSU Key F.A. Signings: TE Jim Kleinsasser (ret) Key F.A. Loses: DT Fred Robbins |
|
Hill is the most underrated player in this years draft. A slow forty time slowed down his ratings in this draft, but he is football player period. He has amazing size, quickness, and strength for a DE. Vikes said they want a DE similar to Kevin Williams, who was also a DE/DT tweener, and Hills best comparison in the NFL.
| 51. | Baltimore | Jake Grove OC/OG Virginia Tech |
Earlier Picks: none
| |
|
Ravens are desperate for Wide Receivers, but Grove is an excellent player who should be sliding down this low. Ravens need for an interior Lineman is at Right Guard. Grove can play Center or Guard, but He could be a great Center. WR depth in this draft goes down to third round. WR's still available now are not a significant upgrade over those that will go in the third round.
| 52. | Cowboys | Jeremy LaSueur CB Michigan |
Key UFA: Edwards CB |
Earlier Picks: Kevin Jones RB Virginia Tech Key F.A. Signings: QB Drew Henson (3rd) Key F.A. Loses: OT Ryan Young |
|
Big cover corner with speed. With Terence Newman on one side, Parcell can LaSueur as he develops. Played wel at Michigan, which is a trait the Parcell's loves.
| 53. | Seahawks | Dwan Edwards DT Oregan |
. Key UFA: Jones T, King DE,
|
Earlier Picks: Jonathon Vilma ILB Miami Key F.A. Signings: CB Bobby Taylor WR Darrell Jackson (ret) DT Cedric Woodard (ret) Key F.A. Loses: DT Chad Eaton |
|
Seahawks almost took Edwards in the first round, and would be ecstatic if he fell to them in the second round. Edwards is a tireless run-stuffer. Is not much of a pass-rusher, but like Seymour he plays every down relentlessly.
| 54. | Broncos | Keary Colbert WR USC |
Key UFA:
Brockermeyer T, Gold LB, Ferguson S |
Earlier Picks: Steven Jackson RB Oregon State Daryl Smith LB Georgia Tech Key F.A. Signings: CB Champ Bailey TE Jed Weaver Key F.A. Loses: RB Clinton Portis |
|
Most underrated Wide Receiver in the draft. Broncos could go D-Line here, but Colbert has starting potential at a position where the Broncos have designated to get younger in this years draft.
| 55. | Packers | Darrion Scott DE/DT Ohio State |
Key UFA: Walls
TE, Smith DT, Edwards S, Hawthorne CB, |
Earlier Picks: Chris Gamble CB/WR Ohio St Key F.A. Signings:
Key F.A. Loses:
|
|
I back-off Packers taking Losman in the first, and now I regret it. If they pass on Losman it means they are going for it this season and will take the most NFL ready player at a need position. I believe that is Scott. He has size to be a D-tackle and the Pass-rush ability of a D-End. He may never dominate, but can play a number of postions, including RDE in running situations so Packers can rest KGB.
| 56. | Bengals
From N.E. |
Joey Thomas CB Montana State |
Key
UFA: Bennett RB, O'Dwyer G, Beckett S, Roman S |
Earlier Picks: Vernon Carey OG/OT Miami Antwan Odom DE Alabama Key F.A. Signings: LB Nate Webster FS Kim Herring OC Rich Braham (Ret) Key F.A. Loses: DT Oliver Gibson OG Matt O'Dwyer OG Mike Goff CB Jeff Burris |
|
At 6-1 195 he ran a 4.4, and is another small college sleeper at cornerback, and he is the best athlete of all corners available in second round. He will need a year or two to develop, but if he can step it up, he could be the stael of the draft.
| 57. | Titans | P.K. Sam WR Florida State |
DL, WR, DL, OL, TE, LB, CB, DL Key UFA: Volek QB, Kinney TE, McGarrahan S
|
Earlier Picks: Darnell Dockett DT Florida State Jason Babin DE/OLB Western Michigan Key F.A. Signings: TE Frank Wycheck (ret) Key F.A. Loses: DE Jevon Kearse
|
|
Sam needs work, but has it all physically. In Fact, I think his best NFL comparison is Tyrone Calico, the player the Titans stole in the 3rd round last season.
| 58. | Eagles | Greg Jones RB Florida State |
Key UFA:
Vincent CB, Taylor CB
|
Earlier Picks: Karlos Dansby OLB Auburn Key F.A. Signings: DE Jevon Kearse LB Dhani Jones Key F.A. Loses: RB Duce Staley QB AJ Feeley (5th) CB Bobby Taylor CB Troy Vincent |
|
Eagles had to be thinking Jones in the first round. They will be ecstatic if he drops to them here. Knee concerns cause him to drop. But his knees looked fine at the Senior Bowl, and with Buckhalter in the rotation with him he will not have to take a full load. If Eagles think Buckhalter can handle the load they may go corner here. Both Poole and Strait would have to be tempting here.
| 59. | Colts | Kelly Bulter ORT Purdue |
|
Earlier Picks: Ahmad Carroll CB Arkansas Key F.A. Signings: QB Cory Sauter Key F.A. Loses: DE Chad Bratzke CB Walt Harris RT Adam Meadows QB Brock Huard FB Detron Smith |
|
Colts need a RT and Butler fell down here because he doesn't have the feet to be a Left-Tackle, he will have to be a RT in the Pro's. I think he is a very underrated player. He is just huge, and should be a terrific R-Tackle in NFL.
| 60. | Saints
From St. Louis |
Justin Smiley OG Alabama |
Key UFA:
Fontenot C, Thomas CB, McAfee ST |
Earlier Picks: D.J Williams OLB Miami Keith Smith CB McNeese State Key F.A. Signings: DT Brian Young CB Jason Craft (5th) Key F.A. Loses:
|
|
Terrific O-Guard prospect. He pulls like a guided missile and just destroys defenders on the outside. OG have a tendency to fall on draft day, and he would be a steal here.
| 61. | Chiefs | Derrick Strait CB Oklahoma State |
Key UFA: Dunn
TE, Tait T, Bartee CB |
Earlier Picks: Donnell Washington DT Clemson Key F.A. Signings: OT Chris Bober Key F.A. Loses: OT John Tait |
|
Slide down in second round for no apparent reason. He was the Nagurski Award winner and the Jim Thorpe Award winner. If they Pats trade Law I think he will be a Patriot next season. But right now Corner is not a need.
| 62. | Panthers | Chris Snee OG Boston College |
Key UFA:
Favors LB, Howard CB, Grant S, Kasay K |
Earlier Picks: Matt Ware CB/FS UCLA Key F.A. Signings: OG Travis Claridge OT Adam Meadows Key F.A. Loses: OG Jeno James |
|
Tough, mean, and durable, what's not to like about Snee.
| 63. | Patriots | Dontarrious Thomas ILB Auburn |
Key UFA: Faulk, Smith RB, Compton G, Woody C, Hamilton DE |
Earlier Picks: Marcus Tubbs NT Texas Rashaun Woods WR Oklahoma State Key F.A. Signings: RB Corey Dillon CB Jeff Burris CB/FS Otis (My Man) Smith Key F.A. Loses: DT Ted Washington OC Damien Woody OC Mike Compton
|
|
Pats need Inside Linebacker depth, and Thomas is the man. He is the hardest working LB in this draft, and at 6-2.5 and 240 pounds, he ran an eye-popping 4.55. He will back up at Inside Linebacker, and work his way into the starting line-up with in a year or two, and possible sooner. If you consider the Pats age at Inside Linebacker, and injury history he could start a dew games inside as a rookie.
| 95. | Patriots | Travelle Warfman OG/OT South Carolina |
Key UFA: Faulk, Smith RB, Compton G, Woody C, Hamilton DE |
Earlier Picks: Marcus Tubbs NT Texas Rashaun Woods WR Oklahoma State Dontarrious Thomas ILB Auburn Key F.A. Signings: RB Corey Dillon CB Jeff Burris CB/FS Otis (My Man) Smith Key F.A. Loses: DT Ted Washington OC Damien Woody OC Mike Compton

|
Could be a guard, could be a Tackle, could backup at three positions on O-Line next season. And if my boy Hochstein fails like so many are predicting, he has the ability to step right in. pats only draft him if they think he can be a Tackle as well. Remember Light is in a contract year, and there is always the possibility of him moving on
