When asked if he wanted in on a ground floor opportunity with satellite television in 1980, Pat Young, recognizing the possibilities, grabbed it with zeal and enthusiasm.� During the struggling years, Pat�s belief in the product kept him persevering, even fighting against illegal descramblers to keep this a viable consumer industry.� He was one of the pioneers who brought satellite television to today�s levels.� This dedication, a fiercely held philosophy of honesty and integrity, along with an extremely supportive wife, Donna, has brought Pat a base of over 5000 loyal customers and still growing.� Pat�s Satellite is a forerunner in offering converging electronics as they relate to satellite television and is gearing up for the onslaught of HDTV.� The revolutionary DVD players and custom home theater systems are among other goods and services offered.� In addition to providing quality products and services, the Company takes the time to thoroughly educate consumers about their systems to ensure complete satisfaction.
Always ahead of the times, Pat was the first to bring to Kern County such leading products as DirecTV in 1994; DISH Network in 1996; DVD, 4DTV and WebTV in 1997 and now will be the first to introduce High Definition Television in the local area.� Pat carries many varieties of electronic products such as Big Screen TV�s including HDTV, Surround Sound Systems, Speakers, DirecPC High Speed Internet, all brands and models of Satellite equipment, and specializes in custom Home Theater systems. Other specialties are sales and installations of satellite equipment in commercial locations including Bars and Restaurants, Offices, Motels and even Multi-Dwelling Units such as condos and apartments where one small dish can serve all units.
Currently, Pat has different specials going on DISH Network systems with rebates on installations and equipment plus special upgrades for Primestar and C-band customers.� DirecTV has just lowered their prices to make it easier to acquire their systems as well.
Pat relocated from Bakersfield to Tehachapi in 1994 where he could better serve the County as a whole.� His wife, Donna, having worked with Honda Research and Development for 17 years as a supervisor, felt she could bring much needed talent to the administrative needs of Pat�s company, so she joined Pat in 1996.� Together they then opened the shop they now have on South Mill and Tehachapi Blvd. on Jan. 1, 1997.� Pat�s vision was to bring something different to the electronics industry by �converging� television entertainment with the computing world and thus having what the future is calling �Interactive Television�.� Now available at Pat�s is the satellite system with a built-in WebTV to access the Internet instantly from your easy chair.�� It will incorporate a Personal Television system� that will allow one to design your own television viewing to watch only the programs you want whenever you want it. Many other futuristic products are in the works also, including Digital Satellite Radio Service (DARS) that let you tune in to over 100 radio stations anywhere in the U.S.
